Trackalat runs your stock too: how much you have, what it comes in, who supplies it, and what every branch and staff member did today.

FAQ

COMMON QUESTIONS

Can't find your answer? Email us at support@trackalat.com and we'll get back to you.

How does Trackalat know when my goods will expire?

When a delivery arrives, you record each item with its quantity and the expiry date printed on the pack. You can type the date or just snap a photo of the label, and Trackalat reads the date and batch number for you. It takes under 2 minutes per delivery. Got a long supplier list? On Starter and Business you can upload it from Excel or CSV instead. From then on, Trackalat watches every date for you.

When and how will I get alerts?

Every morning at 7:00 AM we check your stock. You get an alert 15 days before an item expires and again on the day it expires. Starter and Business also alert you 7 days and 1 day before. Alerts come in the app and by email on every plan, by WhatsApp on Starter and Business, and by SMS on Business, SMS reaches you even when your data is off. We never send SMS or WhatsApp between 9 PM and 7 AM.

I buy in cartons and sell in pieces. Can Trackalat handle that?

Yes. Set each product's base unit (for example pieces) and add bigger units like 1 carton = 24 pieces, with their own price and barcode. Record a delivery in cartons and Trackalat counts the stock in pieces. Products that come in sizes or colours can have variants, each with its own stock and expiry dates, and you can set a low stock level so you're told before you run out. All of this is on every plan.

Do I need a card to start? What happens after the free trial?

No card needed. When you sign up you choose Solo, Starter or Business, and you get 14 days free on that plan. When the trial ends, pay for the plan to keep going, or switch to another one. If you don't, your account becomes read-only: your stock and history stay safe, but you can't record stock and alerts pause until you choose a plan. Businesses in Nigeria pay in naira: Solo is ₦3,500, Starter is ₦8,000 and Business is ₦16,000 a month, VAT included, by card, bank transfer or USSD. Everywhere else you pay in US dollars: Solo is $3, Starter is $6 and Business is $12 a month, by card. Payments go through Paystack.

Can my staff use it without seeing my cost prices?

Yes. On Business you can add store keepers, sales staff and branch managers by phone or email. Staff can record deliveries and act on alerts for their own branch only, they never see cost prices, money at risk or your billing. Managers see reports for the branches you give them.

Will it work on my phone?

Yes. Trackalat runs in the browser on any phone, tablet or laptop, there's nothing to install. It's built to work on a cheap phone and a slow connection, and the alerts come to you by WhatsApp, SMS or email even when the app is closed. Alerts go out at 7:00 AM in your business's own time zone.

Can I cancel anytime? What happens to my data?

You can upgrade, move to a cheaper plan or cancel any time from Settings → Billing. Upgrades start immediately; if you cancel, you keep your plan until the end of the month you paid for, then your account becomes read-only until you choose a plan again. Your products and history are never deleted, so you can pick up where you left off anytime. Your data is yours, you can export it to Excel or delete your account whenever you want, in line with data protection laws such as the Nigeria Data Protection Act and the GDPR.
